    Festival Board Member

Mike’s tea journey began in 2014 with a simple cup of pumpkin spice tea, sparking a passion that quickly grew into a lifelong pursuit. From exploring flavored teas like Blood Orange and Coconut Pouchong to earning his World Tea Academy certification as a Tea Specialist, Mike has immersed himself in every aspect of tea culture. He has hosted live tea tastings, partnered with non-profits, and even traveled to India to experience tea farming firsthand.

Today, Mike channels that passion into The Communi-Tea, an online shop and community dedicated to sharing gourmet teas and meaningful connections. As a QC Tea Festival Board Member, he is committed to elevating the appreciation of tea in the Quad Cities, bringing people together through the art, culture, and joy of tea.

As a board member of the QC Tea Festival, I focus on fostering community, promoting health and wellness, and creating meaningful connections. Inspired by my love for Nepali tea and its sustainable farming traditions, I see tea as more than a beverage—it’s a holistic experience that unites people and cultures.

I’ve had the privilege of traveling across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, where I gained a deep appreciation for global traditions and diversity. These experiences continue to shape the way I connect with people and celebrate c

Spending the evening with my wife is a cherished part of my day. Whether we’re cooking dinner together, sharing stories about our day, or simply curling up on the couch enjoying the comfort of being together.

I am excited to help make the festival a space where everyone can come together to celebrate tea, friendship, and well-being.
